In swnmary, the Town has an <br />existing authorization for $320,000 as approved at the November 1992 Board meeting and is <br />now requesting a supplemental authorization of $630,000 for the construction of a new raw <br />water reservoir for municipal water supply. <br /> <br />The purpose of the project is to provide 30 million gallons (92 acre-feet) of storage for winter <br />water supply to the Norwood - Wrights Mesa service area. The source of supply for the <br />Norwood system is the Gurley Reservoir, an irrigation reservoir. The bylaws of the Farmers <br />Water Development Company, the owner and operator of the Gurley Reservoir, do not allow <br />for winter releases. <br /> <br />CDlSCUSSION AND ANALYSIS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />It was the Board's decision at the November 1994 meeting that the requested $630,000 be set <br />aside for the project and that the application be considered further at the January 1995 Board <br />meeting as more information becomes available regarding the project and the alternatives to <br />
