Construction Fund, Proposed Projects for 1995:
Purgatoire River Water Conservancy District (PRWCD)

Introduction

The PRWCD is the repayment entity for the Trinidad Project and distributes releases of project water
to District irrigators, The Board was infonned in a memo from Chuck Lile dated January II, 1994
and a brief presentation at the January 19-20, 1994 Board meeting of the District's interest in
studying transit losses and travel times on the Purgatoire River. That interests has led to:

I) A refined project proposal designed by USGS in consultation with the District and other
interested parties.
2) A joint funding agreement between the District and USGS.
3) A funding request to the Board from the District.
4) Initiation of Phase I of the study by USGS,

At this meeting the PRWCD will make a fonnal request for financial participation by the Board,
explain its justification for the funding it seeks, and answer any questions the Board may have, The
goal is to reach consensus on what provisions should be placed in the 1995 Construction Fund Bill
and narrow any outstanding issues so that they'.can be finally resolved at the Board's November 3-4
1994 meeting,
