.

.

.

.

.

Administration

This task will be led by Jackie Sullivan, who will draw together inputs from other
members of the project tearn as required.

Detailed Work Plan

The main activities of this task will be the estimation of the costs of procuring
hardware and available software plus the costs of new software development, system
integration, testing, training, and documentation required. To these initial development costs
will be added the estimated operation, maintenance and replacement costs as discussed under
Task 6, to provide a general cost estimate for each alternative.

The tasks involved in the development and implementation of each alternative will be
used to fannulate a schedule. Milestones, including product delivery points, will be identified
so that the alternatives can be compared in tenns of their progress with time as well as their
overall time requirement.

The product of this task will be a report presenting the costs and schedules for each
alternative. The narrative will list the assumptions inherent in' these estimates and will
highlight any uncertainties or budgetary risks associated with particular alternatives.

TASK 8: SUMMARY OF ALTERNATIVES Ai'ID RECOMML.'IDATION TO MEET
CRDSS NEEDS

Introduction

This is perhaps the most critical task of the entire study in that it will provide the basis
for selection of the alternative that will best meet CRDSS needs. Particular attention wiil.
therefore, be given to presenting the rationale for the selection.

Adminiqration

This task will be led by Jackie Sullivan, with extensive input from other tearn
members.

Detailed Work Plan

This task will involve a synthesis of all preceding tasks so that each alternative can
be compared in tenns of:

· Development, costs;

. Development schedule and product delivery milestones;

. Operating and maintenance costS;

-lS-
