We received several
other requests from agencies that have not previously received funds from this source.

The CWCB tries to provide funding from the Severance Tax Trust Fund Operational
Account to as many different projects as possible. Because Jefferson County has already
received $50,000 from this account in fiscal year 1999 we regretfully did not have
enough funds available to provide further assistance to your agency in this fiscal year.

We will be receiving applications for the fiscal year 2002 funding period, and unused FY
2000 funds, commencing January 1,2000. The Minerals, Energy, and Geology Advisory
Board (MEGA Board) and the CWCB will make the final decision in July, 2000 as to
which projects will receive FY 2002 funding support. Please forward your funding
applications to me or Mr. John Van Sciver of this office. Thank you for your interest in
this program and we look forward to hearing from you in the future.

Sincerely,

~J:#

MIKE SERLET, P.E., CHIEF
PROJECT PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION SECTION

Cc

Peter Evans, CWCB Director
John Van Sciver, CWCB Staff

Bill Owens
Governor

Greg E.
