We have enlisted the assistance of many technical
experts and numerous agencies that play an active part and have an interest in ground
water issues that affect Colorado's Front Range mountains. Please see the attached
summary of study expenses to date, and our projected expenditures through June 30,
1999.

The issues of water supply and water quality are becoming increasingly important as
population pressures increase. This study is specifically designed to produce methods
and infonnation transferable to other counties with similar topography and population
issues. Representatives from other counties attend our meetings, and the process has
provided networking opportunities to see how others are handling similar issues. The
issues of ground water supply and quality are of statewide concern.

We are in need of additional funding for this study, to be expended by June 30, 1999.
We have several partis:ipants who have committed financial support, as follow:

Jefferson County
EPA
USGS
CWeB

$320,000
$70,000
$193,000
$50,000

Several of these grants require a matching cost share from the County or other source.
For every $1.00 we receive from the CWCB, we are able to leverage $3.00 from other
sources.

100 Jefferson County Parkway, Golden.
