The loan can be paid off at aTlY <br />time by paying the outstanding principle amount shown on the records of the <br />Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) in Salt Lake City.. Utah. You would need <br />to write to Reclamation asking for a statement of the principle amount <br />remaining on the loan, indicating your intentions to payoff the loan. Return <br />the statement with your check for the amount shown, and you will then be <br />notified of the loan being paid off. <br /> <br />You also asked whether the principle amount could be discounted in the case of <br />repayment? The principle amount can be discounted provided you receive <br />congressional authority to do so. This will authorize the Secretary of <br />Interior to set up the provisions for discounting the loan. The discount rate <br />will be in accordance with the guidelines set forth in Circular A-129 issued <br />by the Office of Management and Budget concerning loan sales and prepayment of <br />loans.
