,

"

.

.

groundwater models that are a part of the SPDSS will be converted to an electronic format
and added to HydroBase.

. Summarize the database for descriptive purposes, including the database fields, number of
entries in each field by aquifer, and sources of data.

. Prepare digital contour maps of (a) aquifer bottom and top elevations, (b) aquifer sand
thickness of each aquifer layer, including the location of data used in the contouring.

. For the Denver Basin Region the mapped aquifers include the following, as defined in the
SPDSS Feasibility Study:

- Alluvium ofthe South Platte and its tributaries

Upper Dawson

Lower Dawson

Denver

Upper Arapahoe
Lower Arapahoe
Laramie-Fox Hills

. For the Lower South Platte Region the mapped aquifers include the following, as defined
in the SPDSS Feasibility Study:

- Alluvium of the Lower South Platte and its tributaries.

. Prepare cross"sections of aquifer depths and thickness, and also depict, schematically, the
generalized lithologies of each of the aquifers.

. A minimum of two north-south and five east-west cross-sections will be developed for the
Denver Basin Region.

. A minimum of three cross sections perpendicular to the valley will be developed for the
Lower South Platte Region.

. A map of each Region showing the locations of the cross-sections and data points used
will be provided.

. The Relational and Spatial System Integration and GIS Consultant will provide base maps
in digital format to be used for mapping. These will be in the coordinate system and
format consistent with other SPDSS products.

. The maps will be evaluated and revised based on the presence of outliers, comparison to
existing contour maps, consultation with SEa and CWCB staff familiar with the data, and
professional judgment.

SPDSS Groundwater SOW, Phase I

Page II
