November'24-~, 1997, Board Meeting-- <br />North Poudre Irrigation Company <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Approval of a Construction Fund Authorization in amount uf ''fS8,899 for <br />rehabilitation of portions of the irrigation system, and approval of a $2000 <br />grant from the Small Dam Site Reconnaissance Fund to complete the <br />Feasibility Study. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The North Poudre Irrigation Company (located in Larimer County) has applied for a <br />Construction Fund Authorization to undertake 5 rehabilitation projects as follows: <br /> <br />1. Indian Creek Reservoir spillway construction; $150K. <br />2. North Poudre Reservoir #5 spillway construction; $150K. <br />3. North Poudre Reservoir #4 full dam rehabilitation; $350K <br />4. Pipe the ditch below North Poudre #6 dam; $200K. <br />5. Pipe a portion of North Poudre's Buckeye Lateral; $150K. <br /> <br />The Company is requesting a $750,000 Authorization from the Construction Fund for these <br />projects, 75% of the estimated total cost of $1 million. These facilities are located north of Fort <br />Collins, generally in the vicinity of the Town of Wellington (see attached map.) The reservoirs <br />have a combined capacity of 11973 acre feet. <br /> <br />Smith Geotechnical Engineers has completed reconnaissance level engineering design work and a <br />cost estimate for these projects, Smith Geotechnical has been hired by the Company to complete <br />the feasibility study. <br />
