We <br />have about 2,200 feet of ditch in need of repair now. Add at least <br />eix headgatee in need of repair and old ditch removal and dirt work <br />for an estimated immediate cost of about S30,OOO.00. The Elmwood <br />Lateral was. put in cement in 1978-15 years ago. The Lateral needs <br />$30;000.00 repairs now and may need more than this in the next five <br />years. No ASC5 funding is avilable for cement ditch repair or <br />replacement to us. Fstimated replacement cost for the whole ditch <br />is about S130,000.00 at todays prices. <br /> <br />2. We now have approved up to $200,000.00 (70%) available as a subsidy <br /> <br /> <br />. from the ASCS-we do'not have to pay this back. Also available <br /> <br />from the Colorado Water Conservation Board is a low interest (3%) <br /> <br /> <br />20 year loan for the balance of the project(185,000.00 is allocated). <br /> <br />3. The new pipe project would prvide accurate measuring devises and <br /> <br /> <br />replace feulty headgates making it easy and convenient to use the <br /> <br />wa ter you own. <br /> <br />4, The new lateral will move out of the county right of way, reducing <br /> <br /> <br />liability and making the area safer for residents and cildren who <br /> <br />travel ~/4 and 177 roads. <br /> <br />5. Pipeline is designed to carry twice the water now owned by Elmwood <br /> <br />Lateral Sha~eholders this will allow additional shares to be adoed <br /> <br />to the lateral system as well as better water delivery to existing <br /> <br /> <br />shareholders. <br /> <br />6, We will own and control the use of this pipeline-we can police <br />its use ourselves. <br /> <br />7. A new addition will be made to the trash cleaner and a new deflector <br />added to reduce matinence in this area. <br /> <br />~ <br />
