<br />(:-:;i <br /> <br />EXlllBIT 1 <br /> <br />Description of the Southern Water Supply Project <br />Fon Lupton/Hudson Pipeline <br /> <br />The Southern Water Supply Project - Fon Lupton/Hudson Pipeline (the "Pipeline") cDnsists of <br />approximately 29 miles of 28-inch diameter and 22-inch diameter pressurized. buried steel pipeline <br />and various valve and vent facilities. The Pipeline will cDnvey water from the Caner Lake to <br />BrDomfield Pipeline pDniDn of the Southern Water Supply Project tD Panicipam delivery pDims <br />shown on the attached map. <br /> <br />The route for the 29-miJe buried pipeline begins at the Caner Lake to Broomfield Pipeline <br />cDnnectiDn nonhwest Df the City of Longmont near Table TDp Mountain. The rDute proceeds <br />directly east along Vermillion Road in Boulder County and Weld County Road (WCR) 32 up to the <br />crossing Df Interstate 1-25. At this point the route traverses tD the half section line, one half mile <br />nonh Df Highway 66, and proceeds east to a point just west Df the South Plane River near <br />Platteville. The route then turns southeast and crDsses the SDUth Plane River. The route then <br />follDWS alDng WCR 30 for approximately 2 miles to the intersectiDn with WCR 31. The route then <br />turns south and east and proceeds approximately 8 miles tD the new water treatment plam site for <br />Fon LuptDn and Hudson Dn Badding's Hill. <br /> <br />The Pipeline will also include various appunenant facilities. SDme Df the significant appunenances <br />include a combinatiDn metering and valve facility at the beginning Df the Pipeline near Table Top <br />Mountain, an isolation valve IDcated near the TDwn Df Mead, an isolation valve located in the Platte <br />Valley near WCR 19, a turnDut valve for the MDrgan Pipeline at the intersectiDn Df WCR 30 and <br />WCR 31, and a flow cDntrDI structure fDr FDn LuptDn and Hudson at the same IDcatiDn. Other <br />facilities, such as air-vacuum/air release valves and blDw-off valves will be provided alDng the <br />length Df the pipeline. <br />
