CWCB Construction Fund Loan Application

Springdale Ditch Company Projects
Springdale Ditch Company proposes to driI1 a total of three wells at the current time. One
Augmentation Well, requiring drilling of the well, electric motor, pane~ underground pipe and wire of
about I, I 00 feet, in which the well will be pumped in the sununer to oflSet depletions of irrigation wells
used by members of the Springdale Ditch. Two Recharge Wells will be driI1ed and need motors, panels
and pipe of about 800 feet per well. The Recharge Wells will be operated during recharge period
Nov.1 thru April I, as needed, to supply to the ditch recharge water for the coming years irrigation
well depletions. All wells will require the use of propeller flow meters to accurately record the water
being recharged. Springdale has a fourth well pennit for a recharge well that we can exercise the use
within two years if more water is needed and can be recharged. At present, we feel the three wells will
be sufficient, but want to leave the option open if the fourth well is needed. The Baney recharge sight
will be leased by the ditch company and the ditch company will provide measuring instruments and
earth work in exchange for the lease along with a 80/20 share of water credits. This sight is
approximately 15 acres and provides a pond close to the head end of the Ditch for close recharge.
Keller Recharge area is approximately seven acres in size with the landowner retaining ownership of
the pond. This pond will require the Ditch Company to provide the measuring clock to receive a 50/50
share of water credit, that is the standard except for unusual circumstances. Fritzler Pond is five acres
and has a decree from water court for storage and recharge. To utilize this pond, the Ditch Company
proposes to put a lift pump housed by perforated concrete rings in the ditch to till the pond because it is
above the ditch and won't gravity flow. Being a decreed pond, the Ditch Company will incur all
expenses in order to keep a 50/50 share. Schuman pond is 20+ acres and will require the same
landowner agreement of 50/50. At present, we are waiting to have core samples done to a munber of
sights that could be in addition to the listed ponds. If the sights become avai1able, the Ditch Company.
will have a need for more measuring clocks. The ditch end is something that needs measuring for tail
water exiting the ditch. Currently, we have 'no measuring device and will be required to instal1 one to
measure run out. All resources listed here give Springdale Ditch Company the assets to fully augment
their wells with the potential to have extra water available for sale to other a Ditch Companies within
the User Group. By augmenting our own wells, we can receive a refund from GASP for all the water
created by the ditch, which is in excess of$35,000.00 annually.

5

CFLA902
