<br />Articles of Incorporation <br />of the <br />Purdy & Vickers <br />Ditch Company <br /> <br />( Filed in the office of the Secretary of State, May 23, 1887 in <br />Book 15, pg. 462 ) <br /> <br />Know all men by these presents: That we, George A. Purdy, Thomas <br />Vickers, and George W. Moody, residents of the State of Colorado <br />have associated ourselves together as a corporation under the name <br />and style of the "Purdy & Vickers Ditch Company" for the purpose <br />of becoming a body corporate and politic under the laws ofthe State <br />of Colorado and in accordance with the laws of said State we hereny <br />make, execute and acknowledge this certificate in writing of our <br />intention to become a body corporate under and by virtue of said laws. <br /> <br />First: The corporate name of our said corporation shall be <br />"The Purdy and Vickers Ditch Company." <br /> <br />Second: The objects for which our said company is formed and <br />incorporated are to maintain, construct and operate a ditch or canal for <br />conveying water for domestic purposes and irrigation in the County of <br />Delta, and State of Colorado, and to construct, maintain and operate <br />lateral branch irrigating ditches from the main line of said ditch for the <br />proper distribution of water for the purposes herein set forth. To supply <br />the stockholders of our Company with water, and to sell, rent, or lease <br />any surplus thereof or rights thereto for the uses and purposes above <br />mentioned. To acquire, hold and use such premises along the line of <br />our said ditch as may be necessary for the right of way therefor, or in <br />the construction, or maintenance thereof To do any or all things that <br />may be incident or conducive to the attainment of any of the aforesaid <br />objects, or to the usual powers of corporate bodies. <br /> <br />Third: Our corporation shall exist for the term of twenty years, <br />commencing from the date of execution of these articles. <br /> <br />pg.l <br />
