~
~

work will proceed from the east to the west. Significant
dewatering of the construction site will proceed initially. The
eastern outlet works will replaced with a new outlet works to be
located approximately 100 feet north of the existing outlet
works, in order to eliminate an existing bend in the ditch as it
exits the outlet works. Vegetation will be removed and the site
will be excavated to expose the existing siphon. The existing
siphon will be removed and replaced with 48 inch reinforced
concrete pipe. A section of the existing 400 foot section will
be exposed and the boiler pipe will be inspected for its
structural integrity. Based on this analysis, the 48 inch pipe
will either be 'joined to the existing 42 inch boiler pipe or the
42 inch boiler pipe will be removed and replaced with 48 inch
reinforced concrete pipe, The inlet works may be replaced
depending on whether the 42 inch boiler pipe needs to be
replaced.

Alternative Designs and Construction Cost Estimates are found in
Appendix C.

Water Rights

The decreed water rights for the Las
Consolidated Extension Canal Company
Ditch Co.
