C. Water Quality

I

The regulations governing acceptable potable water quality are contained

in the Colorado Water Quality Control Division publication entitled "Primary

Drinking Water Regulations for the State of Colorado." Samples from each

district well are tested twice each month and the results are submitted to

the Water Quality Control Division, Daily tests are made of residual chlorine

concentrations. A continuous record of sample results is maintained in the

district files.

As each new well has been drilled and added to the system, samples of the

water have been thoroughly tested to determine contaminant levels. Only chlor-

ination has been required to meet tpe required drinking water standards. Water

quality has been acceptable for all wells currently in use and it is anticipated

that any wells added in the future ~ill also supply water of similar quality.

Recent water sample test result~ are included in Appendi~ B for two of

the four wells. The tests results ~re representative of the chemical and

physical characteristics of the water supply.

Individual chlorination facilities have been provided for three wells. The
information in Table-5 describes the chlorination equipment presently in use.
Chlorine residuals have been consis~ently maintained with this equipment.
