I

I

I

The water produced by the above~entioned water right is not adequate to

supply the current district residents with a supply of 80 GPCD. Because of

the junior status of the water right, the district has augmented this source

of water supply to assure its legal dependability. Further, the district has

filed an application for approval of a plan of augmentation with the Water

Court in Water Division No.1. This will guarantee the dependability of its

present and future water supply sou~ces. Specific details of the above mentioned

plan of augmentation are presented in the following section.

I

I

I

I

I

C. Water Augmentation Plan

I

Pursuant to CRS37-92-302, the B~ook Forest Water District has filed an

application in the Water Court of W#ter Division No. 1 for approval of a water

augmentation plan. This plan is baged on diverting water under senior priorities

and augmenting for stream depletiong caused by the district's present and pro-

posed future water supply system.

I

I

The district's plan of augmenta~ion is based on utilizing one share

of the water decreed to the Pioneer~Union Ditch. Water is supplied to the

district's residents from wells pumping under the Pioneer-Union Ditch priorities.

Depletions from the future district's use are limited to those historically used

by one share of Pioneer-Union Ditch water right. Depletions to the stream

system are augmented on a year-round basis through the utilization of a proposed

raw water reservoir which will reI esse water to the stream system during the

non-irrigation season.

I

I

I

I

The Pioneer-Union Ditch is located in Sections 32, 33, 28, 27, 26, and

25, Township 4 South, Range 69 West, Jefferson County, Colorado. A map

Showing the general location of the ditch is presented in Figure-5. The

existing basic data pertinent to the ditch water rights is presented on

Page 26.

I

I

I

*

Data from the State Engineer's office 1978 Water Rights Tabulation for
Water Division No.1.

I

-24~
