I

I

CHAPTER V
WATER REQUIREMENTS

I

I

A. General

I

The Brook Forest Water District strictly serves the area confined within

the physical boundaries of the dist~ict. As previously mentioned, the area

is currently zoned mountain residen~ial for single families by the Jefferson

County Planning and Zoning Department with the exception of ~he area in the

vicinity of the Brook Forest Inn. the district service arae has been converted

to equivalent single family residence taps for the area presently being served

and for the area within the district's boundaries when fully developed. Present

and future land use8 were discussed in greater detail in Chapter IV.

I

I

I

I

I

B. Presen~ Water Requirements

I

I

The present area being served by the district consists of'211 equivalent
single family taps. Even though 400 lots are currently platted, new taps are
not issued until proven additional ~ater supplies are secured. The distribution
system needs to b~ upgraded to provide more dependable service during the winter
season. The district has limited its residents to strictly in-house water uses.
The water used by each consumer must be for health and sanitation purposes only
and not for irrigation, livestock watering, car washing, recreation or other
non-essential uses. Present use rates have not been used to project future
water requirements since continuing shortages and water losses in the distribu-
tion system make the available data unreliable.

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

-19-
