Ma,y
JUl
Ju I
Auq
Sep

Required Flows
for Senior Absolute
Water Rights (ac-ft)

4,000
15,000

21,300
10,800

4,500
55,600

I '
n
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

percent in MolY, 25 percent in June, 20 percent in August, and 10 percent in
September. The complete analysis made of these absolute rights is shown in
Appendix Section E. The above diversion rates result in an annual
application of approximately eight acre-feet per acre of irrigated land for
the reach of the river studied.

The monthly ciiversion for the senior ,~bsolute rights was combined with
tributary inflow and return flows to determine the minimum amount of water
which must be provided at the confluence of the North and South Forks. The
following tabulation shows the monthly volumes of water that must be
available to satisfy senior absolute rights.

Month

Total

Senior Conditional Water Rights
The most significant conditional water rights senior to the YJWCD rights are
those on the South Fork associated with the Stillwater Project. These
rights consist of 370 cfs of direct flow and 12,550 acre-feet of storage.
Of the direct flow right, 300 cfs is an on-channel, nonconsumptive right
related to hydropower. If developed and put into use, the power right would
not diminish the quantity of flow downstream and therefore would be
available for use by absolute water rights. The remaining 70 cfs of the
Stillwater ri~lht is a direct flow consumptive right. For the operation
studies, it wc.s assumed that this 70-cfs right would not be available to
help meet the downstream senior absolute water demand.

V-4
