(CLDI), located in Garfield County, has submitted an application
for a loan to construct a new headgate and raw water delivery pipelines to replace the existing
earth ditch system. They request a loan of $60,000 (75 % of the estimated total project cost of
$80,000).

The shareholders of CLDI currently divert water from the Multa Trina Ditch, approximately 5
miles south of Silt. Water is delivered from the Multa Trina to the shareholders in earth ditches
that are in poor condition. The ditches have been eroded to depths of 6 feet in places, and
seepage losses make it difficult to get water to the irrigated lands. In 1996 they were short of
water.

The plan is to locate all headgates in a common structure on the Multa Trina, and install buried
pipelines to deliver water to the property lines of the individual shareholders. Preliminary
engineering design work as wefl as a Project Report have been completed by Dennis Davidson
the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Glenwood Springs Office. (See attached Report.)

DISCUSSION

The project involves reconstruction of ditch laterals to allow efficient delivery of raw water for
irrigation.
