The location of the Pipeline and PartiCipant delivery pomts a.:e shc.'"'1 <br />on L'1e attached map. <br /> <br />The modiflcatlons to the Carter Lake Outlet Works and St. Vrain Supply Canal. located at ar.d <br />below Carter Lake Dam :-10. I. include raising the walls and covering the eldsUng sulling bas;n <br />and Parshall Flume. The modifications also include replacing the first 2.300 feet of the <br />trapezoidal. shaped canal ....ith a covered rectangular section. constructing an emergency <br />splllway on the canal. and constructing a turnout structure for the 34-rrule bur1ed pipeline. <br /> <br />The route for the 34-rrule bur1ed pipeline begins at the turnout structure. constructed as part <br />of the modiflcations to the St. Vrain Supply Canal. and proceeds east and south for <br />approximately 3 rrules. The route continues south for another 3 mlles (leaVing Ldr~'!ler County <br />and entering Boulder County) unUl the route abuts the r1ght-of-way for an eldSting electI1cal <br />transmission line. At this pOint. the route turns southeast and is parallel to the nght-of-way <br />for the electrical transrrussion line. The route sk1rts Table Top ~ountain. diverges from t..'1e <br />electI1cal transmission line. and crosses over Table Top ~ountain at its south end near an <br />abandoned gravel mine approximately 3 miles southeast of the route's inJtial abutting to the <br />electI1cal transmission line. From thIS location. the pipeline continues south for another <br />4 rrules. pasSing west of the Longmont urban area to a pOint Just south of St. Vraln Creek. <br />The route turns southeast for somewhat more than 1 mile. passing between St. Vrain Creek <br />;:nd the Longmont Airport. The route then continues south and east for approximately 3 rrules <br />to a pOint '.4-rrule east of the intersection between Airport Road and the Diagonal Highway. <br />The route then turns east for 2 miles unUlit again abuts the right-of-way for an existing <br />electrical transmission line which the route parallels to the south for nearly 4 rrules. South of <br />Lookout Road. the route diverges from the electrical transmtsslon line and continues south for <br />a distance of about 3 miles. The route then turns east for 3 miles to the Boulder-Weld County <br />Line. The route follows the Boulder-Weld County LIne south for 2 m1Ies before turning <br />southeast for 3 miles to the Broomfield dellvery pOint which Ues in Adams County. <br /> <br />The Plpellne W1l1 also include vaI10us appurtenant facilities. Some of the more sigruflcant <br />appurtenances Include a master metenng facility near the turnout structure for the 34-rrule <br />buned pipellne. a m~fnl1r'\e valve near Table Top Mountain. another mainline valve near the <br />Diagonal Highway. and a flow control structure for Broomfield \4-mile south of the existing <br />Ene Water Treatment Plant. Other facilities. such as air-vacuum release valves and blowoff <br />valves will be prOVided along the length of the pipeline. [n addition. proVisions for connectlons <br />to the Pipeline will be proVided at Participant dellvery locations for future connections by <br />Participants other than Broomfield. <br />
