At the time of district <br />formation, the San Miguel Project was being planned by the U,S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) for federal <br />constructi n as a participating project under the Colorado River Storage Project Act. Federal involvement in the <br />San Migue 'Project was discontinued in 1981.
