Improving *nd expanding the existing irrigation systems in t~e study area to provide additional late summer water
supplies c( lid be accomplished in a number of different !ways. Four alternative project configurations were
developed ~d are designated as Alternatives G, L, Hand W. Alternatives G and L were formulated so they
could func ion independently or be combined with additiqnal elements to form Alternative H. Alternative H
combined 1{ith additional elements comprises Alternative W, the maximum alternative considered. This
formulatio ' allows flexibility so that an alternative selected !Iue to financing constraints could be expanded into a
larger alter, ative when additional financing becomes available. A description of each of these alternatives follows:

Alternativtl,(t. The Gurley and Cone collection and regulatpry systems with increased storage at Cone Reservoir,
stream div rsion improvements and a Gurley Ditch to Cone i Reservoir connection.

Alternativ 'L . The Lilylands Canal and Reservoir system with an enlarged reservoir and extension of the
Lilylands I take east of West Naturita Creek.

Alternativ i W . This alternative includes all of the elem~nts of Alternative H with the addition of increased
capacity in ' & M Hughes Ditch and a new reservoir at the Marie Scott site on Saltado Creek.

In additio to the project features discussed above, Radiun). Reservoir and the San Miguel Canyon Project could
be added s options to some of these alternative project c(mfigurations. Radium Reservoir, a proposed wildlife
habitat an ,recreational reservoir in the Dry Creek Basin, i$ an optional addition to Alternatives L, H or W. The
