Table 3.10 presents a summary of the sizes, class, and length
for the pipe types evaluated. This table also illustrates how the lengths
change for various pipe types, priMarily due to differences in the inside
di ameter. As note1 previ ously, a common fri cti on factor was used for all
pipes. A composite cost for the various sizes, class an1 length was compute.1
for each alternative alignment, 1esign discharqe and alignment. This sinqle
unit cost per foot was then included in the estimate times the total oioeline
1 ength.

Install ati on costs were estimated for the different trenchi ng, backfil 1 i nq,
and handl i ng costs associ ated wi th the vari ous pi pe types. Fi gure 3.10 shows the areas where rock and wet
excavation conditions are estimated to occur.

The tlielve cost estimates are summarized in Table 3.11 and more detaile1
breakdowns are shown on the four summary sheets at the end of this section.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tab1 e 3.11

Summary of Alternative Pipeline Estimated Costs

Alignment A

A1ignm'!nt B

Q = 2.5

Ducti 1 e Iron
Pretensioned Cylinder Concrete
PVC/Permastran

$3,229,000
3,36~,000
:l,159,000

$:l,44tl,OOO
:l,"i71,000
3,468,000

Q = 3.0

Ductile Iron
Pretensioned Cylinder Concrete
PVC/Permastran

$3,443,000
3,473,000
3,286,000

$3,685,000
3,689,000
3,617,000

===============================================================================

3-4:l

l060c
