Industrial uses
a1 so requi re peaki ng factors whi ch are greatly dependent on the type of
industry bei ng served. We have assumed that industri a1 water woul d requi re a
10-day peaking factor of 1.5.

To establish a reasonable lower limit of design flow, we have assumed that it
is desirable to plan for doubling of the Towaoc population as well as
i ncreasi ng the use rate from around 94 gpcd to the previ ously establ i shed
200 gpcd. In effect this would quadruple the total annual municipal water
demand over the existing use. It is also assumed that adequate termial
storage over and above fire storage requirements would allow designing for a
10-day peak.

The annual municipal demand provided would be:

Annual Water Volume = 2n6 people x 200 gal/person/day x 365 days
325,800 qa1 per af

Annual Water Volume = 596 af

This would be the municipal allocation and for a 10-day peaking factor would
require a peak design flow of:

596 af x 2.02 = 1.66 cfs
724 af /cfs

3-7

l060c
