The GVIC owns all the water rights, and individual owners
of GVIC stock receive water through the system. One share of GVIC
stock relates to 0.4 miners inch or about 4.7 gpm. (One Colorado
miner's inch equals 11.69 gpm.) Stock ownership in the GVIC is
considered a personal property right, not tied to the land.

The Articles of Incorporation of the HLDC specify that one share
of stock be issued for each inch of water to be carried in the
Hawkeye Lateral. There are currently 440 shares of stock in the
HLDC, relating to a required capacity of approximately 11.46 cfs.
In 1996 the Hawkeye Lateral Ditch Company diverted at a rate of
7.68 cfs, which is the current carrying capacity of the concrete
ditch system.

Water users on the Hawkeye system pay assessments to the GVIC at
the rate of $139.90 for the first GVIC share, and $6.94 per share
for each GVIC share after that. Those same water users also pay
assessments to the HLDC for running water from the Hawkeye head
gate to their property. The rate required to cover all costs
(debt service, operation and maintenance) will be $41.58 per HLDC
share for the first share, and $16.64 per share for each HLDC
share after that.

Cost Estimate

The estimated total project cost for the selected project is
$392,895. The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will
provide project planning and engineering design.

Item

Estimated Cost

1.
