"
.'

\ \\

.

.

~ "

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK

SRK proposes to perform the following tasks in accordance with our
Standard General Conditions of Contract.

2.1 Task 1 - Review of EXisting Information

This task will be performed simultaneously with Task 2 - Field
Investigation to ensure rapid collection of the data required for
remedial design. The purpose of the review is to familiarize SRK
with previous work performed at the site. This will prevent
unnecessary duplication during the investigation and data
collection effort and wi 11 thereby minimize the length and cost of
the investigation.

The review will concentrate on available information
concerning the configuration, condition and component material
properties of the outlet structure, the embankment and the dam
foundation. While significant gaps are believed to exist in the
available data base, especially concerning critical embankment and
foundat ion materi a 1 propert i es, we understand that some val uab 1 e
data from earlier investigations will be available. The results of
tracer dye flow tests in the new sinkholes is a good example of
existing data which is important and should be easily incorporated
into the proposed investigation. In addition, existing geologic
maps and air photos of the site wi 11 be obtained and evaluated.
l
Areal jOint patterns and fault traces will be delineated and
interpreted where possible and an evaluation of their significance
to sinkhole development will be made.

The proposed field investigation program will be refined based
on the review of existing information to maximize the effectiveness
and minimize the cost of the subsurface exploration.

-3-
