Colorado Hate!' Conserv.:lncy District concerning the above referenced struc-
lc~~oe~;. The plJl'po~e of Hr. Cech'~ cou-,rer:::ation Has to obtain information

The Central Color'u.do Hater Ccnscrvancy District is exploring the possibility
d:o:werting these two structures to flood control structure 'to provide
flo,:.J jJl'()tcct ion to the rroper.ties downstream of thes~ dar:ls along Box Elder
Creek. Hr. Cech is preparing a package for submittal to the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers, a packet containing infon~tion on.these two structures and
.:1 request that the Corps of Engineers consider becoming involved in the
l-'(:hi..i.bilitation of these structures as flood control projects. Specifically,

to him what was available in our files. The following items Here. described:

files contain all recent correspondence in regard to Bootleg Dam.

con~tr'uct ion as .....ell as the extension of the outlet. Recent
corl'esponJe:lce and reports on this structure are available in
our file::;.

The only r(~fercnce to druinage areas Hhich could be fcund was the: hydrology study
on Ireldlld gS. a dam located approximately four to five stream-::liles upstream of
l<lug #3 Dam. This hydrology study showed the druinage area at It~eland #5 Dam to
be 337.8 square miles indicating that both Bootleg and Klug #3 Dams had signifi-
c3nt tributary dr.:liIliigc .:!rc.:ls.
