Board Action. The Board shall hear, consider and act upon the <br />application at the earliest regular meeting of the Board convenient to that <br />purpose No permanent change in status of water allotments shall be <br />effective without the approval of the United States, as well as the District. <br /> <br />f. Proof of Ownership. The Board may require the applicants for reallocation <br />or transfer to provide proof of their interest so that it may ascertain that the <br />persons signing the application are the sole persons interested either as <br />owners or lien holders of the tracts and parcels of land involved. Such proof, <br />which may be in the form of a title opinion by an attorney or such other proof <br />as the Board may require, shall be furnished at the expense of the applicants. <br /> <br />g. Recording. Upon approval of the transfer, the District shall cause to be <br />recorded a certified copy of the application and the order thereon, as well as <br />any releases or subordination agreements deemed necessary, in the office of <br />the Clerk and Recorder of the county. <br /> <br />Reclamation Law Information <br />December 1989 <br /> <br />The contractual obligations through repayment contracts for the construction of <br />irrigation facilities have created the District's requirement to comply with certain <br />public laws. Congress has empowered the Bureau of Reclamation to enforce these <br />laws for the protection and management of this country's most valuable resource, <br />water.
