I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

The streamflows observed in 1980 and 1983 were the largest annual volumes
in the historic record. Conversely, the 1981 annual total of 72,200 ac-ft
was less than any other year except 1954 (52,700 ac-ft) and 1977 (63,100
ac-ft) while 1982 was essentially an average year. It is our opinion that
the streamflow sequence observed during the 1979 through 1984 period
provided an excellent test of the accuracy of the model.

8.3 DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER MODEL TO SIMULATE CBT-VINDY GAP SUPPLIES

A brief description of the CBT and WGP operational model was provided in
Section 5.2, additional details of which may be found in the Technical
Appendix.

Results from the model were compared to reported inflows to the CBT project
as reported in the AOPs (Annual Operating Plan) for water years 1980 to
1983 (see Table 8-3). The comparison shows that the model was accurate in
computing inflows for these years, producing inflows which were
within one to two percent of those indicated by the available data. The
operational model was therefore appropriate for use with the subsequent
analyses.

8.4 WATER AVAILABILITY FROM INDIVIDUAL SOURCES

The availability of water from the four sources of water supply was
evaluated using the 1000-year synthetic records described earlier in terms
of drought severity. Table 8-4 summarized the annual available supplies
for the 25-, 50-, 100-, and 200-year drought events. The City values show
the amounts of water which would be available at the four recurrence
intervals from the City's direct diversion rights. The Ditch columns show
the total water available from the City's ownership (per the Transfer
Decree) of various irrigation rights under the 2000-moderate and
2015-moderate scenarios. The CBT column shows the inflow available to the
CBT project; these values represent the annual amounts of water available

8-12
