<br />I. <br />l. <br />, <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />I <br />1 <br />1 <br />It <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />, <br />I <br /> <br />A N <br /> <br />ACT <br /> <br />1872 <br /> <br />To Amend an Act entitled "An Act to Incorporate the Town of <br />Georgetown," Approve.d January 10th, A.D. 1868. <br /> <br />Be it enacted by the Council and Rouse of Representatives of <br />Colorado Territory: <br /> <br />Section 1. That an act entitled "An Act to Incorporate <br />'the Town of Georgetown,. ap?roved January 10th, A.D. 1868, <br />be, and the same is hereby amended, as follows, to-wit: That <br />the board of selectmen of Georgetown shall have ?ower, and <br />are hereby authorized, to make all reasonable and prudential <br />ordinances and police regulations for the government of said <br />corporation. <br /> <br />Section 2. To declare by ordinance what shall be a <br />misdemeanor, and punish the same by a fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br />section 3. That all laws which may be passed by the <br />Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Colorado, in rela- <br />tion to the registration and qualifications of electors, shall <br />be taken and held to apply to the electors, and all elec- <br />tions held under the charter of Georgetown, or any ordinance <br />made in pursuance thereof. <br /> <br />Section 4. That the word "police", be striken out of <br />section eleven (11) of article five (5) of said act, and <br />the word "watchers" inserted in lieu thereof. <br /> <br />Section 5. That the board of selectmen of Georgetown, <br />shall have power to provide ~y ordinance for the appointment <br />of a town clerk, town attorney, town treasurer, town collec- <br />tor, town assessor, town surveyor, police officers and all <br />other officers necessary to enforce and carry into effect <br />the provisions of this act, and the act to which this is an <br />amendment, and the ordinance5 of said Georgetown, and to pro- <br />vide for their compensation and duties, and the time for <br />which they shall hold their respective offices, and their <br />removal from office; also to provide by ordinance, for the <br />removal from office of the town marshal for any omission or <br />neglect of his duty, and to till all vacancies which may <br />occur by reason of such removal, until the next general <br />election. <br /> <br />Section 6. That the police judge of Georgetown, is <br />hereby authorized to make appointments of special police <br />officers. <br /> <br />C-15 <br />
