WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT
BOX 5220- STEAMBOAT VILLAGE, CO 80499

13 October 1982
7 December 1982--Revised

,

Mr. William MacDonald, Director
Colorado Water Conservation Board
823 Colorado Centennial Bldg.
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203

Dear Bill:

~

The purpose of this letter is to transmit formally to you
and the Board the Feasibility Study for the Stagecoach
Reservoir Project. The proposed dam is located approximately
18 miles south of Steamboat Springs on the Yampa River on the
property presently owned by the Colorado-Ute Electric Association,
Inc. We envision a storage reservoir of approximately 34,000 if
with a minimum pool of about 4,000 af. The total cost of
the project is presently estimated at $12,000,000 which includes
land acquisition, road relocation and dam and reservoir
construction. We wish to apply through the Colorado Water
Conservation Board for a $6,000,000 loan from the Colorado
Water Conservation Fund. Other funding sources are described
in the feasibility report.

The District by increasing its present mill levy from 0.9 to 1.9
will commit the revenue generated from this 1 mill increase as
an annual source of revenue to the project. With the present
assessed valuation of $397,609,000 this will amount to $390,000 ,
which will more than support the entire proposed advance from the
Conservation Fund of $6,000,000.
