<br />. <br /> <br />Feasibility of the Rehabilitation <br />of the <br />Jackson Lake Reservoir & Irrigation Company Diversion Structure <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Project Sponsor <br /> <br />The Jackson Lake Reservoir and Irrigation Company (JLRIC) is a <br />Colorado mutual ditch and reservoir company and a non-profit <br />corporation. Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws are included in <br />Appendix A. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />JLRIC was formed in May 1901 to construct and operate Jackson <br />Lake Reservoir for the benefit of the shareholders. The JLRIC was <br />incorporated in 1905. The JLRIC currently has 90 shareholders <br />with 1550 shares of stock, The Company can divert 400.0 cubic <br />feet of water per second of time from the South Platte River, at <br />a headgate located about 1 mile North of Masters, Colorado. From <br />this headgate, the JLRIC has had an average annual diversion of <br />34,000 acre feet or approximately 22 acre feet per share. <br /> <br />Project Service Area <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The service area is located in Morgan County, from about 18 miles <br />West of Fort Morgan to about 18 miles East of Fort Morgan. This <br />service area is a combination of the six different irrigation <br />companies that own JLRIC stock. These companies are the Bijou <br />Irrigation Company, Fort Morgan Reservoir and Irrigation Company, <br />Upper Platte and Beaver Canal Company, Riverside Irrigation <br />District, Deuel and Snyder Ditch Company, and Hillrose Irrigation <br />Company, Although JLRIC water is not tied to specific irrigated <br />lands, the service area is generally located on both sides of the <br />South Platte River in Morgan County. The JLRIC service area <br />irrigates on the average 17,000 acres. The water is typically <br />used to irrigate corn, alfalfa, beans, and sugar beets. The <br />elevation is 4450 feet.
