<br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I. :J <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />This report presents the results of our geotechnical <br /> <br />laboratory study and slope stability analysis conducted <br /> <br />using one (1) sample supplied by Mr. Leroy Black, Ute <br /> <br />Epgineering and Surveyin~1 InC. <br /> <br />It is Our understanding <br /> <br />that the sample and our analysis are for proposed dam <br /> <br />remedial work. <br /> <br />The conclusions, suggestions and recommendations pre- <br /> <br />sented in this report are based on the data generated during <br /> <br />our laboratory investigation, information provided by Mr. <br /> <br />Black concerning the proposed embankment configuration and <br /> <br />construction, aod on our expe~ience with similar soil con- <br /> <br />ditions. <br /> <br />Factual data gather~d during the laboratory work <br /> <br />are summarized in Appendix A. <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Our scope of services inCluded a laboratory study of <br /> <br />the strength characteristics of a soil sample delivered to <br /> <br />our laboratory by Mr. Leroy Black, stability analysis for a <br /> <br />proposed slope configuration constructed with the soil material <br /> <br />tested, and suggestions for constructing the proposed slope. <br /> <br />It is our understanding that the proposed material will be <br /> <br />used as compacted fill to flatten the downstream slope of an <br /> <br />existing dam.. we understand that the existing downstream <br /> <br />slope is at an inclination of about 2 horizontal to 1 <br /> <br />-1- <br />M85131GE <br /> <br />1Lambert anti g.6'.6'ociate.6' <br /> <br />CONSlIl TING GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERS AND <br />MATERt""l TESTING <br />
