(>:3 GRADING <br /> <br />A. Gener'al: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Grade areas uniformly within limits of grading under <br />this Section, including adjacent transition areas and <br />borrow ayeas. <br /> <br />~ <br />~. <br /> <br />Smooth finished surfaces to a neat appearance with <br />proper drainage. <br /> <br />3.04 REMOVAL OF UNSUITABLE SOILS <br /> <br />A. During the progress of clearing, borrow excavation and <br />site grading, soils such as peat, soft clay, quicksand or <br />other materials which are unsuitable for embankment <br />construction may be encountered. These materials shall be <br />removed from the site and disposed of by the Contractor. <br />The area shall be backfilled to grade with suitable <br />embankment materials complying with the provisions of <br />Section 02219 - Embankment construction. <br /> <br />3.05 ACCESS ROADS, DETOURS, AND BYPASSES <br /> <br />A. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all <br />access roads required to get materials and equipment to <br />the work areaS. All barricades and safety devices <br />required to protect persons from injury and to avoid <br />property damage shall be determined by the Contractor and <br />furnished by him at his own expense. <br /> <br />3.06 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> <br />A. No separate measurement and payment will be made for site <br />grading. The cost for this work will be included in items <br />bid that require site grading such as embankment <br />construction. <br /> <br />END OF SECTION <br /> <br />33 <br />
