' <br />� <br />1 <br />suru�RY <br />Description <br />' The Yamcolo project involves construction of a reservoir <br />on the headwaters of the Yampa (or Bear) River in Garfield <br />' County, Colorado just west of the Routt County line in Routt <br />National Forest. Total capacity of the reservoir will be <br />' 9,000 acre feet, of which 1,000 A.F. will be dead and inactive <br />storage. Surface area of the reservoir will be 175 acres. <br />' <br />' <br />1 <br />' <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />' <br />1 <br />' <br />' <br />� , <br />G_, <br />Project Purposes and Estimated Benefits <br />The reservoir will provide short term regulation of irrigation <br />water to present users in the Yampa - Toponas area and provide <br />3,000 acre feet of storage for late season supplemental irrigation <br />water. It will also provide 4,000 acre feet of storage for industrial <br />use and 1,000 acre feet of storage for future domestic needs within <br />the boundary of the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District. There <br />will be additional benefits resulting from augmentation of stream <br />flows during critical low flow periods. <br />Capitalized present worth of project benefits assuming a <br />100 year useful life and current federal discount rate of 6 1/8� <br />is 7.0 million dollars. <br />Project Cost <br />Total estimated cost of the project based on 1975 prices <br />is 3.2 million dollars. <br />Financing and Repayment <br />It is the intention of the sponsors, the Upper Yampa Water <br />Conservancy District to apply for federal financing under PL 84-984 <br />(the Small Reclamation Projects Act). Cost allocations have been <br />made using the methods reauired by the lending agency, and result <br />in the followir.g repayment schedules over a 40 year repayment period. <br />ii <br />
