.
United States Department of the Interior
BUREAU OF RECLAMATION
Alamosa Field Division
10900 Hwy. 160 East
Alamosa, CO 81101-9518
IN REPLY REFER TO:
AFD-400
ACM-4.00
Ralph Curtis, Manager
Rio Grande Water Conservation District
10900 Hwy 160 E.
Alamosa, CO 81101
MAY 12 2004
Subject: Time Ectension for performance under contract C150093 between the
Colorado Water Conservation Board and the Rio Grande Water
Conservation District — Closed Basin, Alamosa, CO
Dear Ralph,
Based on the current status of drilling we anticipate we will utilize supplies and materials for
appromately ten wells this year. Because of our schedule of completing approximately ten
wells per year it is estimated that these funds will not be expended as of the project finish date of
"on or before June 30, 2004" With the assistance of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District
and the Crrant from the Colorado Water Conservation Board the Alamosa Field Division has
successfully re-drilled nineteen (19) salvage wells with the new well design. Production from
these wells is ranging from 200 to 500 gpm. These are positive steps in recovering salvage well
production.
We would request that based on our current schedule the project completion date be modified
and eended to June 2006. This will allow us to purchase the supplies for the project as needed
and not stock more than will be used.
Attached is the accountability of supplies purchased for this project.
Sincerely,
..i y. :"`--
Ella Mae Herrera, Manager
Alamosa Field Division
Enclosure
