Water <br />consumption is recorded by a DWD meter on the 12-inch line serving the <br />District and all taps served by the District are metered. Day) <br /> <br />Kelton Heights Water District co~sists of approximately 278 single <br />family units, 15 multi-family units, 20 commercial units, and they are <br />presently served by 228 service taps. Most of the existing single <br />family dwellings are old, small and exist on large lots making this <br />area a low density area. Two estimates of the existing population can <br />be determined using: 1) average persons per unit (3.2 per unit for <br />single family units and 2.0 per unit for multi-family units) based on <br />data from the City of Lakewood, and 2) average persons per service tap <br />(3.8 per tap) based on a statewide average. Using average persons per <br />unit the population is estimated at 920. Using average persons per <br />service tap the population is estimated at 866.
