It suggested that the District should pursue the following actions which were <br />considered to adequately meet domestic water supplies until 2005: <br /> <br />· "Acquisition of water rights from the Developer as provided for in an agreement which <br />was prepared at the time of the formation of the District between the District and <br />Developer. These water rights should include all of or the largest portion of the J.R <br />Martinez Ditch, G.S. Hatcher Ditch, G.S. Hatcher Reservoir, Stevens Reservoir, Hatcher <br />Reservoir First Enlargement, and Martinez Dam. <br /> <br />· "Obtain a Special Use Permit from the USDA Forest Service and proceed with the <br />construction of a pipeline from Four Mile Creek to Hatcher Reservoir to carry the <br />District's share of the Dutton Ditch water right. The first phase should be construction of <br />a pipeline for the Dutton extension into the Martinez Drainage, <br /> <br />· "Consideration of the construction of Martinez Reservoir or construction of a transmission <br />pipeline, pumping facilities, and treatment plant for use of San Juan River water should be <br />undertaken within :t 10 years after more direction concerning growth within the District is <br />evident. " <br /> <br />3.5 ALTERNATIVE RESERVOIR EVALUATION APPRAISAL LEVEL STUDY FOR THE <br />S.JWCD - AUGUST 1989 <br /> <br />This study determined future water demands of the SJWCD, evaluated alternative reservoir sites to <br />meet these demands, and recommended the best site for further consideration. Since this report was <br />the basis for selecting the Hidden Valley Reservoir site, its alternative analyses are presented herein. <br /> <br />The report first established water demands, which are the same as those presented in Section 5.0. It <br />then inventoried reservoir sites and evaluated them on their ability to supply an additional 3,300 acre- <br />feet of water per year by 2025.
