APPENDIX A

WEST DIVIDE PROJECT STUDY

Introduction

The Colorado River Water Conservation District and the
West Divide Water Conservancy District (Contractor), with funding
provided in part by the the Colorado Water Conservation Roard
(ewes), will contract with a consulting engineering firm
(Consultant) for a preliminary reconnaissance study of the
reformulation of a West Divide project.

Study Objective and Scope

The objective of the 5tudy is to evaluate. at a reconnais-
sance level of detail, the engineering feasibility and the cost
of constructing a reformulated West Divide project, with general
details as shown in (d) below. The study shall include:

(a) an appraisal level evaluation of the yielrl of the West
Divide reservoirs or combinations thereof based upon
conditional water rights held by the Contractor.

(b) an analysis of uses (excluding recreation and
hydropower generation) and places of use of water which
could he oeveloped hy the West Divide reservoirs ann
associated canals and laterals.

(e) preparation of appraisal level engineering designs and
cost estimates (inclurting annual operation, maintenance
and replacement costs') of the West Divide project ann
associated structures.

(d) The West Divide reservoirs referred to in (a), (b), ann
(cl shall he limited to the following:

(1) Owens Creek Dam and Reservoir, with a storage
capacity of about 30,000 acre-feet,

(2) Kendig Dam and Reservoir, with a storage capacity
of about 20,000 acre-feet,

(3) Canals, laterals and/or pipelines associated
with the reservoirs in (1) ann (2),

(4) Dry Hollow Dam and Reservoir, with a storage
capacity of about 25,000 acre-feet,
