Turkey Creek Diversion - The Turkey Creek diversion structure diverts all of the water in
Lost Canyon into the Turkey Creek Ditch, during high spring flows that exceed the capacity of
the ditch, causing overtopping of the ditch banks because the ditch is not lazge enough to cany
the water diverted. In order to alleviate the overtopping, a wasteway on the ditch to convey
excess water back to Lost Canyon Creek in conjunction with a control gate at the diversion and
other improvements to better divert the water are recommended. The wasteway structure would
be a steel or concrete inlet box with a pipe to carry the excess water back to the drainage.
3
