Summit reservoir was completed in 1907 end Puett reservoir <br />in 1910. T�e Summit Reservoir anC Irrigation Compeny was formeG by t�e <br />comDlnatlon ot several small dltcn comDanles and Incorporated unAer t�e <br />laws ot t�e Stete ot Colorado as e not-for-protit comDeny in 1907. Summit <br />was enlarged to ite preeent eize eEOUt 7938. Puett wes also enlarged and <br />rebuilt in 1960. The D«�ent fecllltles provide from 5000 to 7000 ecre teet <br />01 watar per year to about 4,000 acres of lend <br />TAe initial qurpuse tor forming the company was to provide irrlgaUon <br />water to t�e s�arMOlders in the most efficient manner and for t�e leest <br />cost Dosslble. For many years t�e comDeny also DrovlAed domestic water as <br />wNl. Most domestic weter is now purchased from one of the Nree ruraf <br />water companie� now in existenee. Only a few temllles still depend on <br />Summit }or thelr howehcld weter supply. <br />TMn are 400 sAares in t�e comDany and alt s�eres �ave been Issued. <br />At pfeseni there are 134 s�arMOlders. T�eDlvision ot Wi{dli}e also meintelns the camping facility <br />at Summit Reservoir on lend owned by tAe company.
