For the hi stori ca1 peri od, the maximum day
demand averaged 39.3 mgd. and the i rri gati on season preci pi tati on averaged
10.12 inches. The 1985 maximum day use was 43.4 mgd, but the largest daily
demand on record was the 47.4 mgd which occurred in 1980.

Maximum day demands are important because water treatment facilities are
designed based on their capacity to produce treated water. The projected
values from 1990 to 2015 were ca1cu14ted by multiplying the projected average
annual daily demand by a peaking factor of 2.4. This is the average peaking
factor over the last 15 years for the City of Greeley water system; The
maximum daily demand projected for the year 2015 is 83.0 mgd.

The peak hourly rates are important as the basi s for si zi ng di stributi on
works. Over the 1 ast fi ve years, the maximum hourly rate of consumpti on
ranged from a low of 65.9 mgd in 1985, to a hi gh of 78.8 mgd in 1981. The
average for the 1981 to 1985 period was 73.5 mgd, or about 400 percent of the
average daily consumption.

~21-

.--
