Provide Technical Guidance and Review of GIS Land Classification and <br />Attributes <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The irrigated acreage and tie to water source is the basis for the historic consumptive use <br />analysis. This task will provide the necessary review, coordination, and communication between <br />the GIS and Consumptive Use contractors in order to ensure that the necessary data is being <br />developed for the consumptive use analysis tasks outlined below. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />To aid the GIS contractor in determining the extent and character of irrigated lands in the South <br />Platte and North Platte River Basins by providing technical guidance and review of work <br />products. Provide the GIS contractor with key structure list information, developed in Task 3 <br />and crop categories by geographic area, developed in Task 54. Review intermediate and final <br />2002 irrigated acreage coverage and key structure service area assignments. <br /> <br />Approach: <br /> <br />52.1 Coordinate with the GIS contractor and provide technical guidance during the <br />development of the 2000 irrigated acreage coverage, by reviewing up to two draft <br />coverages and the final coverage. Provide summaries of crops by geographic area and <br />crop type categories to use in characterizing irrigated lands. Review key structure service <br />area and associated acreage designations by comparing general estimated irrigation <br />requirements to historic diversion and available pumping estimates. When possible, <br />assist the GIS contractor with refining service areas during the interviews required for <br />Task 3. Up to eight (8) full-day meetings are anticipated over two-years. <br /> <br />Deliverables: <br /> <br />52.1 A memorandum that documents the results and recommendations based on two technical <br />reviews of intermediate 2000 irrigated acreage coverage and key structure service area <br />coverage, and a technical review of the final 2000 irrigated acreage coverage and key <br />structure service area coverage. <br /> <br />Tasks 53 and 72 .
