SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS <br /> <br />Fuchs Ranches, Inc. Owners of Fuchs Dam in Ri 0 Grande County, <br />Colorado, have been informed by the State Engineer's Office (SED) and <br />the U.S. Forest Service that they must correct several problems with <br />the existing spillway and spillway channel. The problems relate to <br />the inadequate spillway capacity, the condition of the existing <br />spillway, the severe erosion in the spillway channel, and the slide <br />near the spillway channel. <br /> <br />This report presents the results of the feasibilty investigation <br />to determine the best solution to the spillway problems. Several <br />spillway alternatives for construction, including removal of existing <br />spillway and repair of slide area to stabilize the slide are presented <br />in the report. <br /> <br />Spillway Alternative No. 2 is the recommended alternative for <br />construction, at a total cost of about $103,330, based upon 19B2 <br />prices. The service spillway for Alternative No.2 is to be located <br />near the right abutment near the outlet and consists of the following: <br /> <br />1. Removal of existing spillway. <br /> <br />2. Repair of slide area by installation of french drain and <br />backfilling old spillway crest and channel with material <br />excavated from the emergency spillway. <br /> <br />3. Construction of emergency spillway. <br /> <br />- IX-l - <br />
