PROJECT WATER AND WATER RIGHTS <br /> <br />Fuchs Dam and Reservoir are used for storage of water for irriga- <br /> <br />tion purposes. The water rights fil ings indicate that the stored <br /> <br />water is used for the i rri gat i on of 500 acres of land owned by Fuchs <br /> <br />Ranches, Inc. <br /> <br />The original height of the dam, constructed in 1930, was 1B feet <br /> <br />and the total capacity of the reservoi r was 109.41 acre-feet. The <br /> <br />fi rst en 1 argement of the dam and reservoi r in 1938 increased the <br /> <br />storage capacity by 43.74 acre-feet giving a total of 153.15 <br /> <br />acre-feet. The second enlargement in 1943 increased the storage capa- <br /> <br /> <br />city by 35.76 acre-feet for a total of 18B.91 acre-feet. Also, in <br /> <br />1943, approval was obtained from the State En9ineer's Office to add <br /> <br />flashboards in the spillway. This increased the storage capacity by <br /> <br />51.96 acre-feet for a total of 240.B7 acre-feet, which is the current <br /> <br />storage of the reservoir.
