.

CHAPl'ER IV

GRAVITY PIPELINE PLAN

located at the terminus of' the pipeline about 5t miles northwest of' Basalt.
Water would be conveyed f'rom the treatment plants by three trunklines, all
buried, high-pressure pipelines that would be constructed as project f'acil-
ities. Snowmass and El Jebel Trunklines would deliver water from the f'irst
plant and the C,arbondale Trunkline from the second. The Snowmass Trunkline
would extend about 9 miles up the Roaring Fork Valley to a point about mid-
wa;y between the towns of Basalt and Aspen. The El Jebel Trunkline would
extend down the Roaring Fork Valley approximately 7 miles to a point about
midway between Basalt and Carbondale. The Carbondale line would extend
about 9 miles to a point about a mile southeast of Carbondale. It would
provide water f'or Carbondale and to mesas on both sides of' the Roaring Fork.
Any distribution of' the water beyond the trunklines would be the responsi-
bility of' the water users.

.

A residential lot in project area, with Mt.
