This is especially true for <br />those types of businesses and industrieS which rely on higher population den- <br />sities, close proximity to other businesses or easy access to major transport- <br />ation facilities. <br /> <br />General employment trends within the County are suggested in Table 14 on the <br />following page, which summarizes the changes in the numbers of people in the <br />labor force from 1970 to April 1978. During this period, as can be seen in the <br />table. the Fremont County labor force eXpanded from 6,868 to 10,467 people, an <br />increase of about 65 percerot, with the unemployment rate ranging from 4.1 to <br />6.9 percent. Despite this expansion, unemployment in the County has been con- <br />sistently higher than the rate recorded for the State of Colorado as a whole. <br /> <br />59 <br />
