I

I

I

I

I

I

I
I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

ditches. The City presently provides untreated water to the Lakeside

Cemetary via a 10" line and to the Cotter Corporation and Shadow Hills Golf

Course via an 8" line. The cemetary useS approximately .6 mgd during the

spring and summer months and the Cotter Corporation and the golf course

used an average of .23 mgd in 1971. The untreated water supplied to these

facilities presents no problems at the present time because the City's

diversion rights are much greater than the demand for treated water. In

later years if the City's supply of raw water diverted to the treatment plant

becomes critical, a possible use for the shares held in the South Canon Ditch

and DeWeese Ditch would be to use this w8ter to supply the Lakeside Cemetary.

The shares presently held by the City are equivalent to about 1 mgd which

would be sufficient to supply the cemetaCY.

Estimates were not prepared for pumping .his water from the ditches to the

cemetary because by 1981 when the presen. sup~ly of raw water would become

critical it has been assumed that the Ci.y will have taken means to reinforce

its raw water supply situation. The subject was discussed mainly to point

out a possible use for the shares of water in the South Canon and DeWeese Ditches.

3-13
