THIS CONTRACT made this 2nd day of May, 1974, by and between the
STATE OF COLORADO for the use and benefit of the DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES, COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD, hereinafter called the
STATE, and ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONSULTANTS. INC., an engineering firm
incorporated under the laws of the State of Colorado, with principal
offices at Longmont, Colorado, hereinafter called the CONSULTANT.

WITNESSETH:

WHEREAS, pursuant to the prov~s~ons of l49-l-22, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1963, as amended, the Colorado Water Conservation Board is
authorized to construct certain water projects for the benefit of the
people of the State of Colorado; and

WHEREAS, the communities of Louisville, Lafayette, Erie and
Superior through the Coal Creek Water and Sanitation Association have
made application to the Board for the construction of a water project
for the purpose of supplying municipal and industrial water to the
inhabitants of the areas served by the applicants; and

WHEREAS, the CONSULTANT is a professional engineering firm within
the State of Colorado, ano has previously done considerable water-
related work in the Coal Creek basin;

NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed as follows:

1. The CONSULTANT agrees to prepare a formulation report directed
to the problem of supplying additional municipal and industrial
water to the area served by the Coal Creek Water and Sanitation
Association, in accordance with a proposal for project formula-
tion report prepared by the CONSULTANT and approved by the
Colorado Water Conservation Board, dated April, 1974, which
proposal is attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a part of
this contract.

2. Thirty (30) copies of the report called for in this contract
shall be furnished to the STATE not later than July 31, 1974,
unless such time is extended by mutual agreement of the parties.
