The unincorporated town of Larkspur has a cu=ent estimated population
of 150 people living in about 60 homes, Present assessed valuation is
about $200,000.

2. A projected 50% growth could increase the population to about 225
people by the year 2000.

J. The present water and wastewater systems consist of a multitude of
individual shallow wells and sewage septic systems. Many of the wells
are =eliable-drying up in late summer. Most are in danger of
bacterial contamination from nearby septic systems.

4. A community water eystem consisting of a new 50 gpm deep well, a
60,000 gallon storage tank, and about 20,000 feet of pipe can be
constructed for approximately $500,000.

5. A community wastewater system consisting of about 11,000 feet of pipe
and participation with the Colorado Department of Highways in a new
aerated lagoon treatment facility can be constructed for approxL~ately
$276,000.

6. Construction costs can be decreased by restricting the service area
or defe=ing construction of major portions of the systems to future
years .

7. Financing for the project may be obtained through grants and long tenn,
low interest loans from government agencies,

2
