I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Distribution Piping

The proposed 60,000 gallon storage tank will "ride on" the piping network.

No separate pipe lines between the water well and the storage tank are required,

so all pipe can be tapped for service connections.

The main line from the proposed deep well to the storage tank and from

the storage tank to the Larkspur area is shown on Map 1. The main line will

be 8" diameter to provide required fire flow from the storage tank. Map 1

also shows a distribution line from the proposed deep well site running south-

west along Fox Farm Road to serve development in that area. The water main

along Fox Farm Road consists of 3000 feet of 8" pipe and 2000 feet of 6" pipe

to provide fire flows at a limited head loss.

The water distribution system in Larkspur itself is shown on Map 2 at
the rear of this report. As proposed, the system is basically a "skeleton"

with no loop lines included in the present work. Future loop lines are shown

as dashed lines.
All water lines will be 6" or 8" PVC, 160 psi pipe, buried minimum of
5 feeL
The Insurance Services Office prefers no dead-end lines smaller than 8"

diameter. However, the extra cost of installing 8" mains instead of the

proposed 6" does not appear warranted. Future loop line can be installed as

shown on Map 2. In the meantime proposed 6" lines have sufficient capacity to

deliver the required 500 gpm fire flows without decreasing residual pressures

below the required 20 psi.

With the storage tank high water level at an elevation of 6970 feet

(required to serve the Fox Farm Road area and areas west of Larkspur Heights),

21
